Divergent is the debut novel of American author Veronica Roth and is the first installment in the Divergent trilogy. It is set within a dystopian version of Chicago. The novel has been compared to similar young adult books such as The Hunger Games and The Maze Runnerbecause of its similar theme and target audience. You cannot miss this book, go ahead and read it!
